As the Executive Director of Southern California, I have the privilege of leading a team of dedicated professionals across several substance abuse treatment facilities — but at the heart of what I do is people. Whether it’s helping a client take their first step toward recovery or supporting a staff member as they grow into leadership, my passion lies in developing others and building environments where people can thrive.
I didn’t get here by accident. I worked my way up through this field — from cooking in the kitchen and working as a tech, to becoming a clinician, and now serving in executive leadership. That journey gave me a deep understanding of what this work really takes — grit, heart, and an unwavering commitment to showing up for people when they need it most. I believe recovery is more than just treatment — it’s a life long journey that we have the privilege of helping people build that foundation.
At the end of the day, I’m a husband and a father. My family is my foundation and the reason I lead with heart. The way I show up at home is how I try to show up in this work — grounded, honest, and fully present.
This isn’t just a job to me — it’s a calling, and I’m all in.

Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations at Marina Harbor Detox, Gus Saadeh manages and oversees the day‑to‑day operations with a strong focus on facilities maintenance, Health & Safety compliance, and staff coordination. Working closely with the Program Director, Gus ensures staff are trained effectively and that services are delivered with professionalism, compassion, and alignment with industry best practices.
Gus’s path into this field is deeply personal—being in recovery himself provides a unique understanding of the challenges clients face in early sobriety. This lived experience drives his commitment to creating an environment that is safe, respectful, and grounded in genuine hope. Every operational decision Gus makes is guided by a client‑centered mindset, knowing firsthand how critical stability and empathy are during the early stages of recovery.
Before stepping into this role, Gus worked as a licensed realtor in San Francisco. That experience taught him how to connect with people from all walks of life, build trust quickly, and communicate with empathy—skills that now serve him well in supporting clients, families, and staff in a treatment setting. He has also worked closely with aging individuals and their families on issues of trust, long‑term planning, and transitions of care, bringing sensitivity and structure to complex and emotional situations.
Gus’s areas of expertise include recovery‑based operational leadership, staff and facilities management, and maintaining Health & Safety compliance. He is also skilled in providing empathetic support to clients and their families and has a strong background in transitional planning for aging adults and their loved ones. These combined strengths allow him to bring a balanced approach of structure, compassion, and practical guidance to every aspect of his role.
Nursing Director
I am the Director of Nursing for California facilities, overseeing all medical staff and client care operations. My journey into nursing was inspired by a personal desire to provide hope and compassion during life’s most challenging moments. Watching nurses care for my family during a difficult time, I realized how powerful a little hope and dedicated care can be. This inspired me to pursue a career in nursing, knowing I could make a difference when people need it most.
I love working in addiction recovery because it allows me to witness clients grow and thrive within our walls. Our staff’s client-focused approach creates a positive, motivating environment that makes coming to work truly rewarding.
Outside of my professional life, I am a proud father of four wonderful kids. They are my greatest inspiration—teaching me patience, resilience, and the importance of hope every day. My personal recovery journey has also strengthened my understanding of overcoming adversity, and it fuels my dedication to helping others find their path to healing.
I work in this industry because I believe that substance use disorder and behavioral health are underserved populations that deserve attention, compassion, and support. I am excited to be on the front lines helping to reduce stigma and provide clients with genuine opportunities for recovery.
Personally, I am passionate about my family, continuous improvement in patient care through scientific and technological advances, and my love for the Los Angeles Lakers. My goal is to make a meaningful difference, one life at a time, with hope, compassion, and unwavering dedication.

Alumni Coordinator | California
BJ Thome serves as the Alumni Coordinator for Quadrant Health Group’s California facilities, where his purpose is to ensure that no one feels they have to walk the road of recovery alone. His passion for this work is deeply personal. Having experienced the struggles of addiction firsthand, BJ understands both the courage it takes to begin recovery and the importance of continued support long after treatment ends.
BJ focuses on building genuine, trusting relationships with clients while they are still in treatment, helping establish a sense of connection and community before they transition back into everyday life. He believes recovery does not end at discharge—and neither should the support. His goal is for every client to know they have somewhere to turn, people who understand, and a community that continues to stand behind them.
Drawing from his own lived experience, BJ is passionate about meeting people where they are without judgment and reminding them that their story does not have to end where addiction once took them. He strives to make every person he encounters feel seen, heard, valued, and welcomed.
For BJ, alumni coordination is about more than building a program. It is about creating lasting connection, belonging, and purpose while helping individuals stay engaged in a recovery community that genuinely wants to see them succeed.
